Please inform Gala Travel or the hotel when booking as to
the nature of the firearms and/or ammunition you will be

ACCOMMODATION AT ALTCAR
Following notification by the Altcar Commandant on 3rd
August, we regret to say that accommodation on camp in
single and twin rooms is no longer available. There is
to be increased service use that weekend. However,
dormitory accommodation - 10/12 beds per room - is still
available at a charge of £10 per night.
Alternatively, competitors may wish to make their own
arrangements. The resort of Southport is about 8 miles
up the coast with a wide range of accommodation. Click
here for info on accommodation in Southport.
We apologise for this change of circumstance but it is
completely outside our control.
Breakfast and evening meals remain available
in the Red Rose Club, located at the Ranges. Purely as
a guide - Breakfast approx £3.50, two course evening meal
approx £6.00.
All bookings for dormitory accommodation at Altcar should be made
on the accommodation form that went out with entry
forms. Further information should be sought via the Fullbore
Co-ordinator, Charlie Kennish. Contact
details.
ARRIVAL AT ALTCAR
Upon arrival visitors should be prepared to identify
themselves at the main gate and then proceed to the 101 Club
armoury to check-in rifles, following which ID passes will
be issued.
TEMPORARY PERMITS
The Isle of Man is not part of the United Kingdom. It
is a separate jurisdiction with its own legal system.
Shotguns and airguns are regulated separately from rifles
and pistols and firearms law still permits the holding of
cartridge pistols.
Visitors to the Island require temporary permits for all
guns and cartridge ammunition, including shotguns and air
rifles/pistols.
Application forms for temporary visitors' permits will be
made available with the Final Entry forms.
CARRIAGE OF FIREARMS AND AMMUNITION ON AIRCRAFT AND
FERRIES
Details here.
HANDLING AND STORAGE OF FIREARMS
ISLE OF MAN: All firearms (including airguns) will be stored in a central
armoury. They will be collected from you at your port
of entry. The Police will not permit firearms or ammunition
to be retained at your hotel.
Detailed arrangements will be announced nearer the
Championships.
FULLBORE RIFLE: Rifles will be stored at the 101 Club
Armoury at Altcar.
CANCELLATION POLICY
The Isle of Man Shooting Council accepts no responsibility,
financial or otherwise, for the cancellation of events or
changes to the programme. Council will make all
reasonable effort to deliver the published programme but in
the event of entries not justifying the running of certain
events or for any other reason changes to the programme are
necessitated, neither the Isle of Man Shooting Council nor
its constituent members will be responsible for any loss.
'NO-SHOWS'
Competitors who have entered but do not show up for events
will be charged for any consequential cost incurred by the
organisers in making preparation for them to compete.
Where an individual has paid money for entry fees or similar
and seeks a refund, Council will make such refund less any
cost Council has incurred, and cannot itself avoid, in
making preparation for the individual to compete.
