Air
Rifle and Pistol events are to be held at the
National Sports Centre (NSC) in Douglas.
This is a £22m facility with indoor and outdoor
areas completed in 2001 for the Island Games.
The airgun events will take place in Hall 2.
The Centre has a cafe serving meals and
refreshments throughout the day and a range of
leisure facilities.
Taking place at the NSC, in the very heart of the
Island's sports community, the organising
committee is hoping that countries will support
strongly the airgun events so that the
Championships can act as a showcase for shooting.
SHOOTING PROGRAMME
The programme includes -
10m Air Rifle Men
10m Air Rifle Women
10m Air Pistol Men
10m Air Pistol Women
Separate Pairs matches will be held in each of the
above. The feedback from last year's
championship suggested shooters would prefer
separate matches to ensure at least two shoots
over the weekend, and this we are providing.
The downside, however, because of the sports hall
booking arrangement, means forgoing pre-event
training. This is based on the schedule
below. Should it be possible to arrange
affairs differently when final entries are known,
and include training time, this will be done.
The provisional programme is as follows, though
this may be re-jigged when final entries are known
(the late start Friday is to allow for range
set-up time) -
