50 Metre Rifle : Sinclair Range, St Johns
(NB:  This is a high standard meeting where performance is recognised for squad selection purposes)


The 50 metre rifle events will be held at the Sinclair Range, St John's.  This is in the centre of the Island and approximately a 20 minute drive from Douglas.

The Range has 32 shooting lanes all equipped with Gehmann target systems.  There is a roomy covered firing point and Clubhouse serving refreshments throughout the day.  The Clubhouse and its facilities are wheelchair friendly.

Full ISSF equipment control will be available, staffed by qualified ISSF judges.

SHOOTING MATS
Shooting mats are provided as part of the Range equipment.

Good Friday - 21st March

The Range is available for training.

Saturday - 22nd March
NB: All events, on both days, will be on the basis of 2 shots per target, permitting the establishment of British International Records where appropriate.

  1. Three Positions - Men
    An individual event over the standard ISSF 3 x 40 course.  Class awards will be made, subject to the number of entries.

  2. Three Positions - Women
    An individual event for women over the standard ISSF 3 x 20 course.  Class awards will be made, subject to the number of entries.

  3. Prone 60 shots (The Corlett Trophy)
    An individual 60 shot prone event, with Class X, A, B, C and Junior awards.  The winner receives the trophy and replica.

  4. Prone 40 shots (J B Ritchie Trophy)
    An individual 40 shot prone event, with Class X, A, B and C awards.  The winner receives the trophy and replica.  Targets are generally shot as the first 40 of Competition 3 but may be shot separately, subject to the availability of range space.  Unless otherwise declared, scores will be taken from the first 40 of Competition 3.

  5. Women's Open Championship
    An individual prone event for women of 40 shots on both Saturday and Sunday.  Targets are generally shot as the first 40 of Competition 3 (Saturday) and Competition 8 (Sunday) but may be shot separately, subject to the availability of range space.  Unless otherwise declared, scores will be taken from the first 40 of Competitions 3 and 8 respectively.

  6. Club Teams of 4 (T H Colebourn Trophy) - Teams must be nominated prior to any member shooting
    An event for club teams of 4, each member shooting 40 shots.  Targets are generally shot as the first 40 of Competition 3 but may be shot separately, subject to the availability of range space.  Unless otherwise declared, scores will be taken from the first 40 of Competition 3.  Entries to be made on the day.

  7. Club Teams of 2 (Manx Glass Trophy) - Teams must be nominated prior to any member shooting
    An event for club teams of 2, each member shooting 40 shots.  Targets are generally shot as the first 40 of Competition 3 but may be shot separately, subject to the availability of range space.  Unless otherwise declared, scores will be taken from the first 40 of Competition 3.  Entries to be made on the day.

Sunday - 23rd March

  1. Prone 60 shots (B A Holt Trophy)
    An individual 60 shot prone event, with Class X, A, B, C and Junior awards.  The winner receives the trophy and replica.

  2. Prone 40 shots (Collooway Trophy)
    An individual 40 shot prone event, with Class X, A, B and C awards.  The winner receives the trophy and replica.  Targets are generally shot as the first 40 of Competition 8 but may be shot separately, subject to the availability of range space.  Unless otherwise declared, scores will be taken from the first 40 of Competition 8.

  3. Club Teams of 4 (Windsor Plate) - Teams must be nominated prior to any member shooting
    An event for club teams of 4, each member shooting 40 shots.  Targets are generally shot as the first 40 of Competition 8 but may be shot separately, subject to the availability of range space.  Unless otherwise declared, scores will be taken from the first 40 of Competition 8.  Entries to be made on the day.

  4. Club Teams of 2 (A R C Trophy) - Teams must be nominated prior to any member shooting
    An event for club teams of 2, each member shooting 40 shots.  Targets are generally shot as the first 40 of Competition 8 but may be shot separately, subject to the availability of range space.  Unless otherwise declared, scores will be taken from the first 40 of Competition 8.  Entries to be made on the day.

  5. Women's Open Championship
    Aggregate of 40 shots Saturday and 40 shots Sunday (see 5 above)

  6. Open Weekend Aggregate (Casino Trophy)
    This trophy is awarded to the competitor with the highest aggregate scores from the two 60 shot prone events (Competitions 3 and 8).  NB: A separate entry is required for this competition.

    Prone Final
    An ISSF final will be held with scores for Event 8, the Sunday 60 shot event, acting as the Qualification Round.  The top 8 competitors will comprise the finalists.  The Final will take place at 4.00pm (approx) on Sunday.
